Christmas cards and more

I attempted to do our Christmas cards last week and I am getting them sent out today. Here is a sneak peek at them...

The boys also start at a new sitter next week. We are planning on taking them over there 1 or 2 days. It is a mom and daughter that run a daycare out of their home. One of the guys that used to work at McGraw-Hill takes his kids there. They are about 5 miles from my work and have some other kids there that are both the boys ages. I am so excited we found somebody, but still a little worried at how Andrew will react. They do "group" naps where everyone is in the same room, and neither of the boys have ever done that, so we will see if either of them get any sleep.

William is still not crawling yet, just rolling everywhere. He has been sick with a bad cold this week. We didn't give him his pacifier at night the past 2 nights because he couldn't breathe and suck on it at the same time, and luckily he did just fine!

P.S. Andrew now has new nicknames for William - Veggie and Will Will. Don't ask me where those came from!

A new sitter...

Well, it is official...we are looking for a new babysitter. Missy accepted a job work for Grant Hospital so we have to find someone else. She starts on 12/15. We knew this was coming, but it still stresses me out. Everyone that I have talked to is either too expensive or cheap, but in the ghetto. I am finding out that noone is good enough to take care of my precious litte dudes! I have looked at quitting my job, but Dave's insurance just sucks & I would still have to work somewhere part time. I just really, really hate the idea of having to leave them with a stranger all over again. It is bad enough to have to leave them every day anyways. Oh well, if anyone has any ideas, let me know. Sorry, this is a depressing post.... on the upside, William isn't crawling but he gets his little arms and legs kicking and looks like a beached whale laying on the floor.

Trick or treat

Tonight we went Trick-or-Treating around the neighborhood. It turned out to be a beautiful day. Little William was a pumpkin and Andrew wanted to be Spiderman (or "Spiderman Andrew" as he would say). We went down the main street and back around our block and Andrew made friends with everyone we saw, as usual. It was little over 1 mile, so quite a ways for his little legs, but he did pretty good. Now we have WAY to much candy to eat here!!

to poo or not to poo....

I know everyone will think I am a little nuts, but I have started to put William on the potty when I know he is getting ready to poop. I have been using cloth diapers and it makes life so much easier not having to rinse them out! I have to say that until yesterday, I had not changed a poopy diaper in about a month. It was fabulous...I would put him on the potty every night right around dinner time and he would poop. Easy as that. That is until I jinxed myself. I was bragging to people at work about it and of course he had a poopy diaper the past 2 days. I thought for a minute there I might have had a little genius on my hands! Oh well, I of course am not "potty training" but hey, every little bit counts!

Doctor Appointments

I took Andrew and William for their "well child" checkups yesterday. William is weighing in at 20 lbs, 5 oz. and Andrew is up to 35 lbs. (By the way, for anyone worried that William is too fat, I asked Dr. Lisko if it was possible to over feed him and he said no). The little dude can't help he is a pig. :-) Anyways, they always give me a sticker with their height and weight on it, which I eventually put into a scrapbook. I was looking in Andrew's scrapbook, comparing his stickers to William's, and it turns out William is the same size that Andrew was at his 9 month check up! Andrew better watch out picking on William now, he will catch up fast! I thought just for fun I would show a pick of Andrew at 6 months (in white shirt - couldn't find a picture of him at this age to show all his rolls!) and William at 6 months!

Daddy's birthday

Today was Dave's birthday and Andrew was so excited. We went to Menard's yesterday and I told him he could pick out anything he wanted for Daddy. He picked what every man needs - a can of fix-a-flat. When we got home, he wrapped it all by himself and put it in his closet so Daddy wouldn't see it when he came home. Once today rolled around and Dave got home from work, he came walking down the stairs with his present behind his back to "surprise" Daddy.

After presents we had a wonderful birthday dinner of Macaroni and Cheese and hot dogs then Dave and Andrew shared some dirt pudding (note the chocolate on the face!). We ended the day by baking a cake. Andrew was such a big help with the mixing, frosting, and decorating. What would I do without him??

MMMM...food

Little William is 6 months old already! We started giving him "real" food last week. I am playing Betty Crocker and making my own baby food. So far I have only made carrots and green beans, but the little piglet LOVES them both. And he is always ready for his bottle afterwards! I just love all his little rolls.

Baptism

Okay, Beth, you have inspired me to start my blog. By the way, I think this is a great idea for us to remember the cute little things they do! I started this like 2 months ago and couldn't think of anything to write, so I just kept deleting my posts thinking they were boring. I am falling asleep writing this.......ha, ha.....anyways, I will start off with the Baptism since most of you were there! First off, I am completely amazed at the intelligence of a 3 year old. I was feeding William and Andrew says to me "Mommy, are they going to put water on my head? Are they going to put me in a bath? Are we going to have wine?" I explained to him, that yes, they would put water on his head. I asked Dave when he came in if he told Andrew that and he said no, so I proceeded to ask Andrew how he knew that. He said "from the book". Yes, he picked up the Bible and read it word for word and learned this...Okay, well, maybe not (just wanted to make sure you were all still awake!). But, it was a book, just not THE book! It was just one that the pastor had left for us and Andrew had looked at all the pictures in it and figured all of this out. So smart (maybe I am a little partial). Anyways, the rest of the Baptism was uneventful, with Andrew being surprisingly quiet throughout the whole thing. He got to come home and have his "party" and play with his cousins the rest of the day. I should say that chubby little William was great as well. Once I got his pants over his fat little thighs, we were good to go. Holly and John are Andrew's Godparents and Heather and Jeff are William's
